Interesting. Ive never met a whole lot of toxic homestuck fans in my experience, I mostly have stuck to discord communities and in my experience have actually had a very good history with them. I assume it's different in different places, there's a shit ton of toxic ppl on twitter and insta it seems, although I don't use those platforms all too much. What type of shit did they get upset about?

>will insta block you if you say a slur and deem you a racist/bigot (instead of saying 'please dont say that')
>will block you for liking certain characters they dont like (mostly bro strider)
>someone in the fandom said that homestuck is bad bcoz karkat said the word 'retard'
>creating "genders" that are actually personality traits, saw one this mornin
>unecessary trigger warnings, nuff said

in conclusion, the fandom is at its worst state at this point. peak homestuck isnt actually tumblr but rather the now defunct mspa forums. tumblr just acts like an enabler for those kids nowadays to have a thinkpad of that of a no lifer, while mspa had some actual cool people innit

Honestly, the last two, I get. I guess it depends what you mean by unnecessary, some people have specific triggers that may seem weird... Honestly karkat saying the word "retard" is really in character. I dont think that makes homestuck as a whole bad, and slurs are an interesting thing. They can be offensive but I dont think saying them inherently makes you a bigot or a racist. Blocking you for liking a character?? Ok thats just kinda dumb lol. Some people can be a tad sensitive lmao,, I've never really been on mspfa but they seem neat. Also if youre in need of a cool homestuck community check out lumiradio, everyone there's incredibly chill, I've met some amazing people there, in general I think there are both bad and good parts of every fandom. Homestuck has a lot of talent, creativity, but the bad shit gets a lot of spotlight, and there are a lot of toxic oversensitive people out there

Duuude I finished reading it ( and sadly i also decided to read the epilogues ) literally an year ago and well I didn't have bad experiences honestly but i don't and didn't interact with the fandom that much, but i know that apparently it was an absolute menace in the past. It was so bad that they where banned from conventions or they needed to add rules for them. I think that now the fandom is going completely south and after a painfully long death everything will stay silent, sooo it will be difficul to find assholes .
